Cohort 1

Overview
In the build up to final selection days, we filtered through 2,220 applications, from which we finalised a list of the top 50 startups which we then shared with our corporate partners to narrow down to the top 20. This allowed for our corporate partners to explore to the fullest extent the breadth of new technology that exists across the continent. Such level of engagement is necessary in the open innovation ecosystem, where corporates can directly engage and explore the full circle of innovation. 100+ mentors from our corporate sponsors, investors, ecosystem developers and government attended to meet with the 20 startups to mentor the founders and establish new connections.
